The Sergio Vieira de Mello Foundation is extending its call for nominations for the 2015 Award till 30 April 2015. This prize rewards an individual, a group or an organisation whose original and daring initiatives have brought people in conflict in war-torn societies towards reconciliation. Call for nominations for the 2014 Frontline Award until 14 January

The annual Front Line Defenders Award was established in 2005 to honour the work of a human rights defender who, through non-violent work, is making an outstanding contribution to the promotion and protection of the Frontline NEWlogos-1 condensed version - croppedhuman rights of others, often at personal risk to themselves. A cash prize of €15,000 is awarded to the laureate and his/her organisation. Deadline: 24 January 2014

UN Human Rights Prize 2013 open for nominations till 5 July

The prize, which is awarded to individuals or organizations every five years was first given out 45 years ago on the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
